The English skills I acquired at Colegio Americano have allowed me to better understand and perform in my professional field. Most of the latest medical literature is published in English, so having an advanced command of the language is essential. It also enables me to communicate more effectively with my patients.
When I think of the school’s extracurricular activities, I remember the wide variety offered—tools that continue to serve me in everyday life, such as ballroom dance, theater, and painting.

I attended Colegio Americano for elementary and middle school. Remembering those childhood years brings a mix of nostalgia and joy. In elementary school, I learned English largely thanks to Mr. Israel Sierra from Chicago, Illinois. In middle school, it was Ms. Diana who greatly influenced my language learning.
I earned a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources from UTEP and am currently completing a master’s in Finance.
Thank you to Professors Mendívil, Anguiano, and all the others whom I remember fondly and with great admiration.
And I can’t forget Coach Arturo, our P.E. teacher and basketball coach. Thank you all for your patience, your guidance, and above all, the memories.

My education at Colegio Americano, both academic and artistic, has been essential to my professional life. It helped me develop a strong interest in the arts, languages, and international literature.
Likewise, the English proficiency I gained has been one of the most helpful tools in my work as a professor, scholar, and artist at various universities across the United States. Thank you, Colegio Americano!

Colegio Americano was my second home for about 13 years—from kindergarten through middle school. My classes were taught half in English and half in Spanish, and the results were evident early on.
After graduating from middle school, I never had to take English as a second language again—the tools I received at Colegio were enough to pursue my degree and master’s at UTEP.
I was part of the school from its early days in a private home. I witnessed its growth and took part in the groundbreaking ceremonies of two buildings, and saw changes from uniforms to school colors.
I saw the birth of the Hawks and was part of the first sports team, eventually becoming the Falcons.
I’m proud to have been part of the early years of Colegio Americano—and even prouder to see what it has become.
Once a Falcon, always a Falcon.
